Welcome to 31 Days of Horror Figures 2019. For the month of October, we will be spotlighting the very best of the macabre, bizarre, monstrous, and villainous action figures the industry has to offer. There will be both old and new figures here and perhaps even a significance to why we picked that figure for that day (and perhaps not). This is NOT a ranking list, just full-blown horror fun for the greatest month of the year.
Kudos to NECA for releasing a Laurie Strode figure. Certainly, this is a fitting follow up to the Doctor Loomis figure that was released several years ago (seen HERE). There simply aren't enough protagonist action figures in the realm of horror. Grant it, the killer, slashers, and monsters are more fun but how many Michael Myers figure does one need?
This is where I usually talk about the property involved with the figure. I hate to say it, but I did not care for the Halloween reboot, retelling, or sequel. Ignoring the events of Halloween II was a mistake. I think Jamie Lee Curtis gave a great performance, however, when she didn't watch Michael's body burn to ash, it stunk of sequel-building instead of laying this franchise to rest. Should I even bother to mention that a latex mask after 40 years, that has sat in an evidence locker, is not going to be even close to wearable? There, I mentioned it. This is a great figure, as per usual for NECA.
