Welcome to 31 Days of Horror Figures 2019. For the month of October, we will be spotlighting the very best of the macabre, bizarre, monstrous, and villainous action figures the industry has to offer. There will be both old and new figures here and perhaps even a significance to why we picked that figure for that day (and perhaps not). This is NOT a ranking list, just full-blown horror fun for the greatest month of the year.
I first saw Nightbreed while I worked in a video store, many moons ago. I had justed watched Hellraiser and wanted to see other movies that Clive Barker was associated with. At the time there were only 2 Hellraiser films and Nightbreed. This is a unique film because here the humans are the bad guys and the monsters are the heroes. Not uncommon today, but it was as if someone had made an X-Men movie and the mutants were being hunted.
Nightbreed, which has developed a cult status, since was not a huge success. The likelihood of seeing any product outside of a Halloween mask was slim. Thankfully, NECA loves their monsters and last year at Toy Fair they unveiled Decker from the film. What many people don’t realize is that Decker is played by the renown director David Cronenberg (Videodrome, The Brood, and The Fly (1986). Thank you, NECA for bringing this dark character to life. Hopefully, a Peloquin is on its way.
See a clip of Decker from Nightbreed below and check out the full list of figures as it evolves HERE.
