Welcome to AFJ's 31 Days of Horror Figures. For the month of October, we will be spotlighting the very best of the macabre, bizarre, monstrous, and villainous action figures the industry has to offer. There will be both old and new figures here and perhaps even a significance to why we picked that figure for that day (and perhaps not). This is NOT a ranking list, just full blown horror fun for the greatest month of the year. #AFJ4LIFE

It seems strange that I no longer watch The Simpsons. After all, I grew up with The Simpsons.  I did watch them four times a day during college. However, as I got older I found solace in Family Guy. Yet, with each year that passes, I do go out of my way to watch the Simpsons Halloween Special aka "Treehouse of Horror" (currently standing at 29 episodes). Today, we take a different route for AFJ's "31 Days of Horror Figures" and spotlighted not only an animated character, but a "Happy Meal" toy as well.

In 2001 (season 7 of The Simpsons), Burger King released new Simpsons toys. It was only 11 years prior that Burger King had released five plus dolls of the main family members. However, in 2001, Burger King released 15 Simpsons characters in full Halloween garb (seen below). Thankfully, if you missed out on "They Came from Springfield" line, the following year they released the "Creepy Classics" which was more of the same. The original 2001 line had these fantastic bases which lit up and were more fun than they actually should have been. Sadly, it is very difficult to replace the batteries without actually breaking them. I just lost Barney Gumble's (wrapped up as a Mummy) stand to old age.

Below you will find my favorite, Bart in a skeleton costume. Thankfully, you will be able to find these happy meal toys at yard sales and toy conventions in the bargain bin, loose. If you want them complete and in the original bag you'll probably pay a bit more, but they are worth it all the same. Happy Halloween, Junkies!
