Welcome to AFJ's 31 Days of Horror Figures. For the month of October, we will be spotlighting the very best of the macabre, bizarre, monstrous, and villainous action figures the industry has to offer. There will be both old and new figures here and perhaps even a significance to why we picked that figure for that day (and perhaps not). This is NOT a ranking list, just full blown horror fun for the greatest month of the year. #AFJ4LIFE
For Elsa Lanchester's birthday, we salute her most iconic of characters, the Bride of Frankenstein! Perhaps one of the most unique creatures in the whole Univeral Monster franchise. She is not the only female monster, there is The Invisible Woman (1940) and the She-Wolf of London (1946) though. She is unique in the fact that she only has 3 minutes of screen time and never kills or harms anyone. Yet there she stands as one of the most iconic movie monsters of all time.
Our figure for today is Jean St. Jean's Diamond Select Toys rendition of the Bride. Originally, she did come in a Universal Studios Monsters Legacy 3-pack. Where she was featured in her traditional black and white colors (bottom). However, she would later be featured, in color, as a Toys R Us exclusive (directly below). Personally, the TRU exclusive is the one we prefer. The packaging was fantastic, and she deserves to have some color in those fantastic cheeks.
