Hello Junkies, it is that time of year again, when we wash the suntan lotion off and break out the hoodies. Yes, Fall and Winter are just around the corner and we cannot wait. We are already scrambling for Force Friday in September, hunting down the Justice League figures, and doing our very best to track down those elusive POP! Figurines. With all that insanity, of toy hunting, we often forget that there are movies coming out with these figures. Why we forget is that not many of these movies are original concepts. Which is why they have toys already, to begin with. In fact, we looked at our list and only two films on it are not sequels, prequels, or a remake. That’s right Junkies, the Summer of 2017 diet will continue on throughout the rest of the year. Oh, who are we kidding? We cannot wait for the final quarter of 2017 as it looks to have the best movies of the year in it. #AFJ4Life

IT

Release Date: September 8.
Our take: We found the TV version to be insanely creepy, can this adaptation live up to that? Toy wise we are already happy with our clown. Let’s all float together!

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Release Date: September 22.
Our take: The sci-spy Kingsman story continues with very little competition in September. The franchise has a following, but will it be enough to warrant additional installments? We’ll find out the 22nd.

Blade Runner 2049

Release Date: October 6.
Our Take: Our eyeballs melt with joy over the visuals and our ears sing with the music in this trailer. Can it live up to the 3 decades of anticipation? We won’t know until October. Until then we will just enjoy the anticipation train.

Thor: Ragnarok

Release Date: November 3.
Our Take: Now this is a direct tie-in to Avengers: Infinity War (out May 2018), which has our blood pumping. That first trailer was gang busters, so it has a lot to live up to. We are confident it will.

Murder on the Orient Express

Release Date: November 10.
Our Take: Whoa, what? Yep, we included the new adaptation of the classic story by Kenneth Branagh. Ironically it premieres one week after the franchise he helped launch (Thor). Will it get bury by The Hulk and Odinson? Probably, but it will garner a lot of attention for its cast.

Justice League

Release Date: November 17.
Our Take: Wonder Woman, finally, delivered for the fans of the DCU, but this is the film everyone has been clamoring for since The Avengers arrived in 2012. This is the make or breaks film for Warner Brothers.

Coco

Release Date: November 22.
Our Take: PIXAR always delivers and we have a feeling that we will be seeing Coco deliver at the Academy Awards in February. Arriving the day before Thanksgiving does not bode well for its box office, but that won’t matter for a PIXAR film. They always have longevity.

The Shape of Water

Release Date: December 8.
Our Take: Guillermo del Toro films are always worth the watch. However, will this odd little film find an audience in December? We expect a lot of critical acclaims, but by December people are thinking holidays, family, and Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Release Date: December 15.
Our Take: Will this be The Empire Strike Back of the new trilogy? We will cry when Carrie Fisher appears on screen? We know the answer to one of those two questions already, it is yes.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Release Date: December 20.
Our Take: Yikes! Why would Sony release a movie 5 days after a Star Wars film and 5 days before Christmas? Will the Jumanji sequel die a quick death at the box office? Yes, but we still want to see it anyway!
