Finally, Warner Brothers and the powers that be have caught on that Adam West, Burt Ward, and Catwoman are forever the characters they portrayed in the 1966 Batman TV series. Better yet, they realized that bringing them back for another last hurrah in an animated film is the perfect way to do that. Entertainment Weekly (see story below) had an exclusive teaser trailer for their upcoming return in Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

Was this announced at Comic-Con? Better yet, why wasn't this even hinted at on the Batman: The Killing Joke Blu-ray? This is truly one of the better-kept secrets in the geek world. This return to cape and cowl has been long and coming for West. The head Junkies here at AFJ cannot wait!

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders arrives Nov. 1st.

From Entertainment Weekly: Holy nostalgia, Batman! The caped crusader is returning to his 1960s television roots in a new animated feature film Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, featuring the voices of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar.

In the exclusive trailer, which you can see above, Batman and Robin are seemingly on their way to a fiery death when the news that a new animated feature is on the way sparks a brilliant escape plan. West’s Batman also teases the film’s villains, including the Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman.
