For those Funatics that are lucky enough to get a ticket, Funko Fundays is the ultimate gathering of all things Funko.  Each year in San Diego in conjunction with SDCC, Funko hosts an amazing after-hours party.  The attendees are given limited edition exclusives of the company mascot Freddy Funko dressed up as current pop icons with production numbers ranging from about 24 to 2000.  Those adventurous enough can also compete in some games, such as the infamous Can of Corn Chug, to win prizes like proto-types and other special edition Freddys. As the evening progresses, CEO Brian Mariotti does a slew of upcoming product announcements which never disappoint. There are usually some celebrity appearances as well to help introduce new lines or to hand out more exclusives to the crowd, like this year's Stranger Things LE 40 Gold Hopper.

This year's Fundays, for the first time, was live streamed so those, like myself, that can't make the trip to San Diego can still watch the fun.  In a brilliant move, they also snuck in a special website and password that would allow those watching to order a Box of Fun to be shipped to your home! This was great because the only ones likely to be watching were the true Funko fans rather than resellers only looking to cash in on exclusives. Stay tuned to AFJ in the coming week for a peek into what I get in my Box of Fun!
