Rumors have been circulating, but now it is official, Indiana Jones V has been pushed back to 2021. Check out Variety's report below.

From Variety: "Disney pushed back the film’s release a year to July 9, 2021. Variety first reported late last month that the Harrison Ford-starrer would miss its 2020 release date. The return of the action hero has been halted because of writing issues. The studio also dated Dwayne Johnson’s “Jungle Cruise” to Oct. 11, 2019 and slated Angelina Jolie’s “Maleficent 2” to May 29, 2020". Read the full story HERE.

AFJ's Take: I am a huge fan of the Indiana Jones trilogy (yes, you read that right). However, with each delay and another year in which Ford gets older, I become more concerned. The current screenwriter, Jonathan Kasdan (son of Lawrence Kasdan, who wrote Raiders), really has his work cut out for him. Perhaps it is time to recast the role? Even Sean Connery, knew when it was time to walk away from James Bond, he came back, twice, and look at what we got (Diamonds are Forever and Never Say Never Again). Do we really want the another Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? No. Add to the mix that Spielberg isn't Spielberg anymore and the chance for one last home run get slimmer by year.

I want to see an Indiana Jones movie where Harrison Ford as old Indy tells a story about his past and we cut to a flashback with Alden Ehrenreich as young Indy while Ford provides voice over.
