Following the end of Avengers: Infinity War, the idea of a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming seemed difficult despite fan appeal. There are many ways in which Marvel could switch things up, but most likely, and rightfully so, Tom Holland (real-life Spider-Man) will be reprising his role in a post-Avengers 4 world. Since the last Avengers flick, news has been scarce on new titles, but Holland just revealed something on Instagram.
Known for being one of the worst cast members at protecting spoiler, (aside from Mark Ruffalo’s Instagram live for the first 15 minutes of Thor: Ragnarok) I think Marvel gave Holland this reveal on purpose because they know people are paying attention. It has been two months since Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and The Wasp will be on the screen in less than two weeks, so it is time to start hyping the MCU again. Who better to do that than Tom Holland on his Instagram?
The new title: Spider-Man: Far From Home, will be a global film as it suggests according to an io9 article. We also have conformation from The Hollywood Reporter that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing Mysterio in the newly titled film. If Homecoming was a John Hughes-esqe movie, will Far From Home be An American Werewolf in London?
Either way, I’m going to be in theatres July 5th next year. Are you excited for an new Spider-Man movie? Let me know!
