Star Wars: Episode IX Casts Doctor Who

Last week we had a Hobbit cast (seen HERE), this week we have a Time Lord! Variety is reporting that Matt Smith (the 11th Doctor Who) has been cast in JJ Abrams' Star Wars: Episode IX.

From Variety: "Sources tell Variety that “The Crown” star Matt Smith is joining “Star Wars: Episode IX,” which is currently in production in the U.K. It’s unknown at this time whether the “Doctor Who” alum will be on the side of the rebels or the evil empire". Read the full story HERE.

AFJ's Take: Adding the Smith to cast is going to be interesting, especially in which side he will fall on. He is far from being the first Doctor Who alumni to be cast in Star Wars. He isn't even the first actor to play Doctor Who to have a featured role in the Star Wars Saga. That honor goes to Peter Cushing (aka Gran Moff Tarkin) who played Dr. Who in Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965). #AFJ4LIFE
