THE AFJ TOP 10 PRE-ORDERS AUGUST
By Jarrett Kruse
It seems like we are so concerned with what's in stores, that we forget what is right around the bend. That's right, the AFJ Top 10 Pre-Orders list is back with a vengeance and ready to wreak havoc on Junkies' wallets everywhere. It doesn't take much to get the Junkies antennae waving and that's exactly what makes for a good Junkie--a Junkie that is informed of what is coming next. Because without that x-factor, a good Junkie can miss out on the simplest of pre-orders just by clicking a mouse.
10. DC COLLECTIBLES ZOOM ($23.99, February 2017)
Hopefully by the time Toy Fair '17 rolls around and I will have my mitts on this awesome figure of the ultimate Flash villain. It appears to be a brand new sculpt for Zoom and the Earth-2 baddie just seems to get worse with each progressive season of the hit CW TV show. $24 and change is a steal for this figure which I am sure will increase its value once the word is out.
I am a sucker for the non-powered Avenger or as RJ "The Dentist" calls Falcon, "a poor man's Iron Man." I say, "not so" when I read the exploits of Sam Wilson. I know it may not be the old MU 3.75" figure with all of the articulation but it is still a pretty sure bet of a piece for me to acquire and put away in my personal Well of Souls. Here, Sam comes in his latest Starktech armor and also arrives with his sidekick, Redwing, which I think is a nice tough to add to this $20-$25 set. #FalconRules
You remember those halcyon days of Junior High, tearing off your jacket and backpack and firing up the NES system. Then through hours of caffeine and sugar, you played CONTRA until your fingers bled promising your mother that one day this would matter. Well here's an early Mother's Day gift Junkies! I know that our own RJ "The Dentist" Davis has been eyeing this set for the majority of 2016 so lets hope he can find for the sweet price of just $42!
7. NECA 1/4 SCALE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (1990 MOVIE) DONATELLO ($99.99)
The movie you loved as a kid that still manages to play better than Michael Bay's productions some 26 years later, is finally getting some figure love. Randy and the gang at NECA have concocted an amazing 1/4 scale Donatello that looks amazing in person. They had it on display at Toy Fair and it was one of the booth highlights. This is a gimme at just $99.99. Highly suggest pre-ordering when this becomes available.
6. TOYS R US EXCLUSIVE VISION, SAM WILSON CAPTAIN AMERICA & KATE BISHOP HAWKEYE ($59.99)
Not sure when this dope set drops either online or in store but I am psyched. Definitely would have been more psyched if good old Sam came with his Falcon/Cap wings. And a movie Vision would have made it even more awesome. I think that the Kate Bishop Hawkeye is going to push this over the edge for Legends Junkies.
5. STAR WARS THE BLACK SERIES ASTROMECH DROIDS 3.75" ACTION FIGURES *ENTERTAINMENT EARTH EXCLUSIVE* ($79.99)

Entertainment Earth Exclusive! The droids you are looking for are here. Celebrating the entire Star Wars saga and the 10th anniversary of our super-popular, sold-out, 2006 exclusive astromech droid sets, this amazing new Star Wars action figure gift set will knock your socks off! The sextet of astromech droids comes to you in a specially designed R2-D2-shaped box featuring these six 3 3/4 -inch scale action figures. Each droid sports multiple points of articulation, similar to the collector-favorite figures of The Vintage Collection. Dating back as early as the 1977 version of the original Star Wars movie, and all the way to the recent The Clone Wars animated series, this set has robots with personality you won't want to live without. Each figure includes rolling wheels on their feet, plus jointed domes, ankles, shoulders, and maybe even a few other surprises.
Jabba's bartender was never given an official name in the books or movies, but his design may remind you of some Earth-based beverages. With his drink dispenser, seven glasses, and a tray harness, this never-before-fully-seen droid served aboard Jabba the Hutt's sail barge. Also, if you look to the shadows, you may find him in Return of the Jedi. We recommend skipping the shadows and getting one of our droids to keep on your desk and another in your Jabba's palace dioramas and playsets (sold separately).
Serving the Shadow Squadron during The Clone Wars, R7-F5 appeared briefly in the episode "Shadow of Malevolence." Ideally suited for a Y-Wing bomber, this diminutive orange droid will look fantastic with the rest of your Grand Army of the Republic, or in your droid pool.
Think pink with D-Squad's own KT-QT. Aayla Secura's pink droid had a special magnet and was sent into enemy territory to recover a secret encryption module for the Republic. Take special note of the top of her dome, as there are yellow and black markers indicating where special upgrades were placed during her time as a spy. You can meet her during several episodes of The Clone Wars.
Plo Koon's R7-D4 makes his movie action figure line debut here! He's a dark maroon color with a gray and white highlights. This droid makes six appearances on The Clone Wars.
Everything's gonna be all right with RC-C2 and a moon pie. We expect you may find both in the home of Black Sun crime lord Ziro the Hutt. This dapper dispenser of potent portable potables is decorated with Black Sun tattoos in gray, blue, and red. There are no other robots quite like him in the galaxy, plus he includes everything you need to help aliens get their drink on at a snazzy underground party. You'll find him in The Clone Wars movie, but the toy can only be found here.
Rounding out the collection is R2-A5. If he looks familiar, he should. You first saw him in 1977! This white and green robot was seen rolling around Mos Eisley near Luke's landspeeder when the Imperial Sandtroopers and Stormtroopers came to ask about various droids they were looking for. You know how that story ends, but did you also know that this figure represents a droid design that was removed from the movie during the Special Edition edits of 1997? It's true! Bring home a lost piece of movie history with this remarkable figure and the entire exclusive action figure set.
4. MARVEL SELECT WINTER SOLDIER ($21.99)
The Winter Soldier lives on after the recent Civil War and DST knows that we were ready for a new figure for the end of the summer. Awesome likeness to actor Sebastian Stan and he comes with some awesome accessories including a sweet looking assault rifle and interchangeable hands. Very psyched for this piece. 3. MEZCO SUPERMAN ONE:12 COLLECTIVE ACTION FIGURE
I love the ONE:12 COLLECTIVE series from MEZCO and their rendition of the non-movie Superman is something to see. Comes with all the bells & whistles including Kryptonite and a miniature bottled city of Kandor. There are even chains and an alternate head with heat seeking red eyes. MEZCO is no joke with this new line gang.
Well this weekend will decide if the world loves Harley Quinn when the box office receipts for Suicide Squad come rolling in Sunday. "Daddy's Lil' Monster" continues to astound and amaze as DC's first lady and Margot Robbie is sure to excite in the film if the awesome trailers are any indication. The nearly 6-inch tall Suicide Squad Harley Quinn SH Figuarts Action Figure includes 2 interchangeable left hands and 3 interchangeable right hands, 3 faces, a baseball bat, and a handgun that can fit in her costumer's holster.
1. NECA 1/4 SCALE DEADPOOL ($99.99 11/16)
Its NECA. Its Quarter Scale. Its DEADPOOL. Nuff Said.
